I am going to start up a retail clothing business. I’d like to open it at a mall but dont know the best way to find couple employees with retail clothing experiences to help with cashier and customer services. What are the average pay for Retail employees full or part-time at the mall, and what are the benefits employee get? Also, what kind of software the stores are using at the mall to sell and keep stock inventories. I am new and have no idea how to do it right. Please advises. Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Kent
Hello Kent
In a mall setting, you will no doubt be required to follow a LOT of mall policies, specifically hours they set, days open, holiday hours and more. Also, be careful about signing any contracts/leases for more than one year at a time. You just don’t know how the store will do and you don’t want to be tied to a long term contract if something does not work out.
Once you hire employees you will be required to pay state unemployment taxes, federal unemployment taxes, submit reports and file tax payments monthly and or quarterly and annually. Contact your state government and see what they require for new business startup.
Start small, don’t take out a huge loan, don’t run up your charge cards, do not put everything you own at risk for the sake of the business.
I have owned and operated numerous businesses from a women’s clothing store to a coffee shop/clothing store combined and I will tell you, it is a ton of work. Watch the books, watch the finances, negotiate with everyone . There is so much, I wish you good luck. I recently sold my coffee shop, still sell some clothing online and am considering opening a gift shop this summer in a resort area in Wisconsin. Again, all the best to you.
Sincerely
Jeannie

Dear kent you can start the mall and keep initially part-time hours rate worker other wise use them as basic pay(as per local govt norms) + sales incentives
use the EPR or any MI’S software pertains retail mangement or scm.
