Tax (retail) certificate (its not a license) is from the franchise tax board. Business license is from city government. Permit for ammno–that I do not know, sorry. Shipping ammo–ask at UPS or the post office what that would entail.

I’m an amateur at photography, I have quite a bit of shots and I’d like to start a portfolio. It’d like to have one because I’ll be taking a photography class in the fall. My question concerns how the photographs should be organized. Should I place all the best shoots form one shot together or spread them around with other shots from other shoots? Is there a certain way it should be organized?

portfolio organization depends largely on your audience. i.e., who is going to be looking at it. many artists make the mistake of designing the porfolio for themselves. determine what it is your client is looking for. ask as many questions as possible or find out info about the client that will give you some clues as to what to include and omit.
if you just want to put together a broad porftfolio organize by subject: landscape, portrait, abstract, etc. within each subject try to organize thematically. keep photos from the same shoot together.

What types of health problems are needed to qualify to have gastric bypass surgery? What kind of job do you want? It just depends. If you are just looking for a job during school, most likely you will need to apply for a volunteer position since you don’t even have a degree yet. When I had to do some volunteer work, I had to apply for their volunteer program and that included writing a short entry on why I am interested in working for the zoo, what are my hobbies, how do I plan to help, etc. And I had to do it a few weeks in advance, since it has to be reviewed and they get lots of them. Go look up what zoo you want to work for and get their application from them. Usually you can also let them know what time schedule works out best for you.

If you want to know about what kinds of degrees or programs you need for a certain feild, they all have their own requirements. Here are some of the areas of work you can get at a zoo: marketing/communications, Care Taker, Zookeeper, Mammal Keeper, Marine Animal Internships, Horticulture internships, vetrenarian, Diver Officer/Volunteer Diver Supervisor, HVAC Mechanic, Education Intern, Aquarist, Play Program Facilitator, Bird Programs, Animal Trainers, Medical Records/Animal Registrar.

There are a ton of jobs available at zoos since it takes so many people and programs to keep it running. A Zoo isn’t just a place to visit animals, there are many many things it does behind the scenes. Some places care for animals and send them back to their Homes, some breed, some places protect them, do research studies, and zoos also provide services for other organizations such as marine life research and tagging.

So all of these are jobs that you could do and each has their own education standards like Marine Biology for the aquarium jobs, Botany for the plant-life and Horticulture, Engineering for the technician jobs, Inter-Personal Communications for the marketing jobs, etc. First decide what job you want, then see what education that career requires.

I would like to be an expert on computer programming but at least know my way around the hardware. Is there a degree like this or is it in my best interests to dual degree seek?

Electrical Engineering seems to be what you need. Most compsci degrees never touch on hardware. Try adding some C and Assembly into an EE degree, and you would likely get what you are looking for. Add something like LISP or Python later for a very high level language, but it looks like you would benefit from learning some low level languages that interact with the hardware well. Maybe try designing some hardware of your own and writing a driver for it?

How important are extracurricular activities and playing sports to getting into college? I was told that if you don’t play a sport in high school, then you don’t have much of a chance to getting into college.

You were told falsly. EXTRA CIRRICULARS are important on a college resume, sports are only one type of an extra cirricular. Without extra cirriculars, unless you are the smartest kid in your class of X in the United states…your application is much weaker. Admission deans LOVE kids who are involved outside of school.

Sports, volunteering, plays, boyscouts, school newspaper, clubs….only a few examples of extra cirriculars. You don’t need to play sports as I said before, those are only one kind of extra cirriculars.

I want to make sure that I am citing my Science resources correctly. Is there a specific way to cite for a science report or is traditional citing acceptable? I am a sophomore in an an honors science class.

You usually use the method of citing used in professional journals (pull out a science journal & look & copy the manner of the reference citing); it is a bit different from traditional reference citing.
