I’m currently an undergrad at a liberal arts school. I’m planning on majoring in either politics or philosophy, and a minor in business. After i get my degree, would i be capable of getting hired or nonetheless get an interview with a firm or bank. Also, could a business internship help the situation?

A Business internship would definitely help.

May I suggest majoring in business if that major is available, in which case you could minor in politics or philosophy. As you can take additional politics or philosophy courses as electives in addition to those required for a minor, you could still get a good education in one of those subjects.

If a major in business is not available, I would suggest that you take as electives any additional available business courses which are not required for the minor. I would also suggest taking additional business courses during the summer at the most prestigious university possible during any summer in which you do not have an internship. Some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including Harvard and Stanford, often admit for the summer only students at any other properly accredited university or college upon the student’s completion of a simple form and payment of the tuition fee. In that case be sure to have official transcripts sent to your college.

Just an FYI, I like animals. I think they should be treated fairly, although maybe not to the extent PETA would like. But I do not condone animal cruelty. On that same note, first world countries treat animals like royalty at times. There are plenty of pet owners who treat Pets like they are their own children and would spend easily 50+ bucks just so they’re dog could get a pampered bath and groom. Meanwhile, a starving third world child may struggles to get even a few cents worth of food with any nutritional value.

Yes, my dog is more important to me than any kids in the third world, and that is true for deveral very good reasons.

First of all those companies that advertise on TV pay their CEO’s 300K a year. Only about 1/4 of the money you send ever reaches that country. After it gets there it lines the pockets of the rich. Only a few pennies of that $50 will buy anything for the child.

Secondly, when you give money, you only make the situation worse. You take away their reason to work for themselves. I have seen that in the USA many times. My friends that grew up with everything can hardly function as adults. I had barely food to eat when I grew up. I managed to work my way through college on my own.

Thirdly, the government’s of those countries are making a fortune off people, like you, sending money. They have a vested interest in keeping the children poor so that they can keep photographing them and suckering you into sending money. Keep in mind that for some of those countries their biggest export is photographs of starving children. The government officials have palaces and drive expensive cars thanks to people like yourself.

Oh boy, you’re probably going to get a bunch of people who are affiliates selling their stuff here in reply – not objective answers. I just want to give you an objective reply so that you can make a wise decision about all the things you’ll read about here and online.

There are three important facets to selling online:

Traffic generation – that is getting people who might be inclined to buy to your website. Lots of different ways to do that. Article sites. Google ads. Safelists – and on and on.

The site itself – needs to be set up in such a way that it’s navigation friendly, search engine friendly and looks professional for what you’ll be marketing.

The copy – must be written in an emotionally compelling way so that people say, "Wow – I want that!" and feel like they just gotta have it. Pictures alone don’t do it. Fancy bells and whistles don’t either. It’s about the copy. (That’s my expertise more than the technical pieces.)

Oh, and a fourth – the product and pricing must be something that’s quality and that people really want.

I don’t know of one product that provides all that – and I’ve attended a lot of fancy-schmancy Internet Marketing seminars over the years where they sell more of these programs. There are different programs for different facets of internet marketing.
