I just wondering what software should i get for my new Computer? my computer is a best of a computer and i was hoping you could give my some suggestion for softwares. I already have anti-virus and a firewall, but i was just hoping you could suggest some cool softwares for video editing, music making or image editing… Whatever program you would love to have on a computer suggestions please.

adobe creative suite 5, but its pretty darn expensive, for music making, uhh it depends, for live music recording and authoring, your going to need a line 6 pod interface and whatever software that comes with it is amazing, ive only used it once, for just making techno type music get fruity loops.

if you were to ask me what my favorite Computer Software was, i would say ollydbg 1.10 because my favorite thing to do on my computer is reverse engineer code….but you might not be into that.

I recently started recording video at a building where i work at because there have been stories about ghost sightings and sounds. But now i would like a computer program that can help me look and hear the video more in depht. Where the audio can be seen as soundwaves, i think thats what its called. a free software would be best. . thanxs people.

For Audio: Audacity, hands down. 100% free, 100% awesome

For Video: Open Movie Editor, I have also heard of Kaltura, but I haven’t tried it out. Other than that, you can’t work with video too much without really expensive software like adobe, and there is a bit of a learning curve to boot.

I wanted to make a skating vid, but I need to post a name in the corner of the video to at least give credit to the person who was skating. I tried using Pinnicle studios 10 already, but I’m not sure if that has the feature. I have a Windows XP Computer if that helps. You should use Windows Movie Maker. If it is not already pre-installed on your computer you should google it. I am not sure on a Download link.

Since it is so popular It should not cost that much, maybe even free.

But what’s free now-a-days?

I have a 1-wire temperature monitoring network and would like to have software control the fans around the house. I can do the software end of it no problem but my problem is this:
How can I control a power outlet from the computer?

use an intelligent Power distribution Unit(PDU) that can be connected to a computer through a RJ45 connetor cable. the PDU has many power outlet sockets which can be connected to few electrical appliances. each outlet can be indiviually controlled using the computer.
